Broadcast music mixing

An fun aspect of my work is mixing live performances by artists at various radio stations, such as Radio 538.

The challenge is to create a mix that has a sound quality very close to a studio recording, despite the limited time available for soundchecks and setup.

Normally, I work from the radio studio, but this was a special excursion. 🙂 For Radio 538’s King’s Day event in Breda, I was asked to handle the mixing of all the artists for radio, TV, and the live stream from an outside broadcast van located behind the stage. One of the artists who performed that day was Nielson.
